Headeache - Personal story of a chronic symptom

I decided to share with you today my personal story about my chronic pain and how i realized that i needed to CONNECT WITH MY BODY in order to improve my life.

I have suffered from migraines since I was a teenager. At home, at school, all of my friends already knew about my headaches and when to leave me alone. It slowly became my "normal state".

Some days where worst than others, but I had reach the point of spending 20 days of non-stop headaches. it was a nightmare and my whole life was affected by this. My mood, my relationships, my plans, all depended on weather I did or didn't had headaches.

Of course I had hundred of medical tests done and visited docent of doctors, but all of them said the worst thing I could expected: YOU DONT HAVE ANYTHING!

What? I remember thinking: please find anything so you can give me any kind of treatment, but tell me what is wrong with me and give me something to solve it fast!!!!

Unfortunately, there where no magic solution. I was healthy which was great news, but that didn't stop my pain at all.

By the time I was 25 i had already been working on my personal and spiritual growth for many years. But suddenly I remembered my first therapy session ever and I understood what the therapist meant after 15 minutes of chatting, she told me: You have a strong BODY-MIND DISCONNECTION.

I finally got what she meant and understood I had to take action. This would be a longer journey than taking the right migraine pill and get it over with, but it would definitely change my situation from the root.

And so i began my Bioenergetic therapy with my new amazing guide.

I didn't know what it was but i just went for it. It was time for a real change.

So with bioenergetics i started to work gradually in grounding, feeling my body, acknowledge it existence, recognizing sensations, feeling vibration and letting my energy FLOW all throughout my body from head to toes. I finally became aware that i was creating my OWN TENSION. My pain was a consequence of the way my body respond to stress.

Not only my headaches gradually stopped but also my life began to make better sense.

It felt like the all pieces started to fall into the right place.

Well yeah! now my thoughts, my body and my emotions where allies and not enemies.

I still practice regularly, as I said it is a life time journey.

This is what I answer to people when they ask me: how did you overcame migraines?, give me the solution!

Body connection is gradual but you can benefit from it right away. It is a constant work to take care of my self on daily basis. Eat the right food, sleep enough, exercise AND meditate or do any body-mind activity.

Each one of us have different patterns and different ways to respond to stress. For some is headaches, for others digestive issues, skin problems, panic attacks….

Life goes on, and stressful situations will keep coming. The solution is not to deny stress, but to flow with it.
